Mthunzi

Interesting, a little bit over my head in the medical terminology, but still a good scary story, holding me captive all the way through, to the end.”

"I like how you made Paula a Sherlock Holmes type of character. Your description of Shade/Mthunzi was, I think, nothing short of brilliant...it makes me think of Stephen King's description of the dead boy in Stand by Me. Both descriptions left nothing to the imagination. Both were masterfully done. I am looking forward to Paula and Wayne's next adventure.

"Badger is based in 19th Century Oklahoma territory. An early western at its best, depicting early life on the frontier with a woman heroine. Enjoyable reading that will keep you up all night to see what happens next."

"Badger made me homesick for New Mexico, thinking of some of the old missions [the author and I] visited together. I enjoyed it immensely. See, the book made me all nostalgic. Thanks for that."

"I am not a big reader but this was a book that I could not put down. It is such a sweet love story that carries with it true friendships, romance, mystery, and adventure. The visuals portrayed about the West intrigued me and made me want to read more westerns. The characters are so strong and fascinating that they draw you into another world. I love many of the characters in this book but Chase [Badger] is a character that I just could not get enough of. She's smart, sweet spirited yet strong and a healer in life. She takes you on this thrilling ride that's just exquisite and beautiful. I truly connected with this character. The ending was also so satisfying yet left me wanting a sequel. This novel is cleverly written and incredibly engaging. This is a must read! You will love it!"

"A very compelling story with many interesting characters. The main characters, Brighton (Bry), the orphaned boy, and Chase (Badger), the young Indian woman who befriends him, are both very passionate, intelligent, and caring. The fun part is that they are also tough, when they need to be, and are not afraid to do what is right.

The story is very interesting and entertaining. The characters' personalities seem to jump off the page and draw the reader into their world. The interlacing of actual places, people, and events of that era make the whole story that much more believable. I am looking forward to the sequel."
